The Alcazar restaurant occupies a building on the Rive Gauche with a long musical history. The infamous 19th century orchestral cabaret hall later became a popular jazz club. ¶ Commissioned for the private dining room of the restaurant in Paris, the composition draws upon the rhythms, structures and improvisations of jazz, and makes a material connection with the ceramics of the Alcazar Palace in Seville. ¶ Designed and produced in collaboration with Ian Bilbey.
