The interdependence of land and sea has contributed to the historical success of the Cardiff as an exporter of raw materials. This connection has played a crucial role in the city’s history and continues to do
so in its present day development. Cardiff's vibrant and expanding waterfront contributes hugely to its creative and economic success. ¶ The imagery evolved from the sculptural forms and graphic interlocking layout of Cardiff’s quays, reaffirming the continuing relationship between land and water.
